After all, you can take care of others ONLY when you make yourself capable of doing so. And that means you first need to take care of yourself.
Your well-being should be the top priority in your life, yet so many place our health on the back burner, leaving it unattended until it boils over. Health seems to be something that's largely taken for granted. You feel invincible until you don’t!
It doesn’t matter what your life goals are; ensure that you take care of yourselves so that you can go after those goals. If you take proactive action, you'll not only feel better, but your body will thank you by adding healthy year onto your life! With good health you give yourself more opportunities to reach your goals.
It doesn’t matter at what stage your life or your health is. Progress, not perfection, is what one should be looking for. Lifestyle conditions such as cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity and hypo/hyper-thyroids are endemic in today’s time. Most people fully realize that these are lifestyle-oriented conditions. And yet, most rely on modern medications to rescue us from the rut. Medications can only go some distance in managing our health. Beyond that, it’s up to you to decide what you want to do.
Many do not realize the pitfalls poor health until it hits them. At best, it can make you lose precious time with family, friends, a few days in your office, and some money from the bank. At worst, it can snatch your ability earn a livelihood, enjoy life with your family or even remain independent on your own. Poor health impacts your cognitive and physical abilities and that influences all facets of your life.
It doesn’t matter where your idea of wellness starts. Holistic wellness has many dimensions… physical, social, intellectuals, emotional, recreational, occupational, spiritual, etc. Progress of one of them influences other dimensions positively.
